More than you probably wanted
to know about Abigail M. Schilling

I'm 23 years old. I live in Southern California. I talk loudly and a lot and I started blogging when I was 18. Those posts are very painful to read. In fact, I'm one of those people who can't read any of her archives. Or listen to her voice recorded. That's why my pop career didn't work out. That and my inability to keep a beat or a tune.

Let's make these easy and do a Q&A.

What does the M stand for?
It stands for Marie, the most common middle name given in 1984. I don't really like it and I much prefer just plain old M.

Who are all these people you talk about?
My awesome friends. A lot of times I mention their names because it flows better and sometimes I leave out the names when I'm bearing family (or work-related) secrets.

Who is traveling lover?
Not a real person. He (and the narrator) are hybrids of people I have known. He hot though, huh?

What do you get at Starbucks?
Tall, non-fat, peppermint latte with whip. If I'm at a new Starbucks they usually mess it up and make a mocha first and then make a latte. I don't like peppermint mochas. Too sweet.

You wrote something cryptic. Is it about me?
In 2003 I decided I would never use my blog as a way to tell people things I was too afraid to say in real life. This has been a fairly easy commitment to keep. What's harder is that people assume I'm doing that. So I've cut back tremendously on the stories I tell and the characters I write. I swear, it is NEVER about you unless I use your name.

Can I call you Abby?
No. Abs is fine, though.

Why is your life such a pathetic mess?
Because God has a sense of humor and also because I'm poor. Everyone knows that money buys happiness.

Can I take you out to dinner?
How did you know that eating out is my favorite hobby? A word of caution: eating out usually makes my tummy hurt.

Yeah, what is that about?
I have a lot of health problems. I'm written most about my battle with asthma because people can understand that. I don't go into detail about anything else because I'm terrified of being misunderstood.

Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
Yes. I love and adore people. I love sharing my experiences with them (you) and living life in community. I also love being alone in my car with the radio off. I love spending Saturdays in my jammies.

What do you do for a living?
I work in higher education Public Relations. Basically, I tell people what to do. The only thing I like more than telling people what to do is getting paid to tell people what to do. I love my job. I resent when people ask me what my "next step" is.

What kind of toilet paper do you use?
Moderately thin double ply from Costco. I hate the thick, fluffy stuff.
