How I won $5,000 on a gameshow
[part one]
Yes, I won. It. Was. Awesome. Here are the basic answers to questions I've been asked:
What's the show?
It's called That's The Question and it's a new show on the Game Show Network. To see how it's played you can watch this blurry video or search "That's The Question" or TTQ on YouTube for some other videos (the show has appeared in other countries).
When does it air?
I'm not sure yet. I will hopefully get a phone call or letter once they've booked and will then tell the world. The show airs five times a week Tuesdays-Saturdays and if they air in chronological order then I won't air until December. Buuuut, if they air in order of awesomeness, then I will hopefully be more towards the front end of the season. (So far they haven't been airing chronologically.)
Who was your opponent?
His name was Andrew and he was a 20-something lawyer in LA. I hung out with him and his friend Wendy in the green room for many hours before hand and they're very nice people. Who are also rich. I don't feel bad.
So, tell me the whole story!
I don't know how to answer that. I'll write about the whole audition and getting on experience later. But I don't have a lot to say about the actual taping. It was really fun to play a game show, I can tell you that. I don't remember a lot of the questions I answered right. I remember some of the answers to the wrong ones--Liberace, Lionel Richel. And I barely won. It was very dramatic.
What was the winning puzzle?
What Greek god ruled all the others? Zeus.
How will you spend your winnings?
Well, first I have to receive them which won't happen until 90 days after the air date. Then I'll pay off my credit cards and take a cool trip and then I'll save the rest. It will, hopefully, change my life in ways I won't be able to sense until it happens but I hope to be able to afford movies when I want to see them. And eat Chipotle all the time. And get my hair cut. I've complained about my money problems on this site often and these winnings (in 90 plus days) are truly an answer to prayer. I'm so happy.

If I won that much cheese I would definitely give it all to my sibling as a gratuity for listening to all the things you the other wouldn't have to from the mother. Freedom isnt free.

That's so cool! Is it enough to buy the last Vienneta? 5,001 marzipan buisiness cats? Or new tires for your favorite ex-roommate?
