Two Things I Love About My Commute
One
There is an establishment that I always thought was called Scotty's and appeared to sell flowers and? gifts? cards? That kind of store. Now, after driving past it every day (it's the 2/3 marker on the way to work) I've discovered that it's actually a slashy store. Not only is it Scotty's but it is also Lollicup TeaZone. The TeaZone serves coffee, tea, and ice cream. Most recently they started serving CherryKiss which is apparently? some sort of yogurt ice cream fantasy? They got a huge big banner and then after a couple of days a second banner: "The taste that launched 1,000 parking tickets! --Los Angeles Times." I come up with NOTHING when I google CherryKiss (or the suggested cherry kiss for that matter) but the parking tickets quote landed me this article discusses a yogurt phenomenon called Pinkberry.
Now, see, I'm perplexed. I know that sign says CherryKiss. And it seems to match up with the Pinkberry description. And that article is titled the same as the quote on the other sign. And yet Pinkberry has no product called CherryKiss.
What the hell?
Now I'm too worked up to talk about the second thing. That will have to wait until tomorrow.
And I'm totally going to Scotty's slash Lollicup TeaZone in the morning to taste "the taste that launched 1,000 parking tickets."

Just don't get a parking ticket. I got a parking ticket in LA once. The west coast is real proud of No Parking Zones.

And is there any legal parking about... or will you be the 1001?

Yogurt ice cream? Is it pink? Cherry flavored? Is it frozen yogurt with a hint of ice cream or ice cream with a hint of frozen yogurt? I am full of questions today, aren't I?

Oooh, mail some to me. You've already mastered the dry ice/ice cream packaging! Then I can review it. And if it's not up to my standards, it could be labeled CherryKiss My Sass!

I am having to refrain from typing in caps right now. I am so excited. Lollicup is amazing, Aaron and I are addicted and we go all the time to the one in Orange. (And a couple of nights ago one of the workers let us sample a new yogurt thing they're gonna serve, that's not on the menu yet... I think it must be akin to pinkberry. It was very yogurty.)

Dude, I saw an empty store that the windows were painted pink, and it said "pinkberry coming soon" in Pasadena.

This sign confuses me too. I've been to pinkberry, and this is not it so why do they use the LA Times Quote. I used to go to scottys for the shaved ice with frozen yogurt. I hope they still have this.

Funny, I commute past Scotty's/Lollicup Tea zone, and I, too, was lure into the store today by the LA Times quote. I found your blog when I tried to figure out what the heck CherryKiss is and whether it is healthy enough that I can eat it all the time without guilt. I haven't had Pinkberry (I actually live pretty far east of Scotty's and bit north), but I really liked the yogurt at Scotty's.
